Our story begins in the 1930s when Joseph Pinizzotto Sr. bought a Diamond T truck as a way to make ends meet after the Great Depression. His sons, Mariano and Joseph Jr., went on to fight in World War II. When the boys returned Mariano and Joseph Sr. used the garbage trucks to start hauling bulk materials out of their backyards. They opened the company Pinizzotto Trucking, and with the help of family members and friends their business grew.
In 1968, Joseph's youngest son, Anthony, partnered with his brothers, and expanded Pinizzotto Trucking into North Brunswick Construction Materials. They relocated to Ridgewood Avenue in North Brunswick and continued to haul landscape supplies throughout central New Jersey.
Anthony's sons, Anthony Jr., Michael, and Jimmy, followed their father into the business during the late 1970s. Business grew, and so did the family. In 1988 Michael's wife, Patricia, started working for the family business as the bookkeeper.
In 1993 a tragic accident happened. Michael Pinizzotto lost his life at the age of 29 while working on one of the company trucks. It was a loss that shook the family to its core; however, the strength of family pulled the business through.
Today our family still stands strong. The founding fathers, Mariano and Anthony Sr. still show up to work every single morning. Anthony Jr. went on to become sales manager while Jimmy manages all the odds n ends of keeping this place running smoothly. Even after Michael's passing, Patricia remained with the company as office manager. The fourth generation of the Pinizzotto family has started working for the family business.
Four generations and almost 70 years later this family has grown to care and love for the business as much as they do each other. Around here we are more than just a business, we are a family.
